Runes are older than the new testament, and belong to an ancient tradition. They have been used all over the world by many different cultures over the centuries. They travelled through the world, and stayed with Northern Europians for a long time.Today, runes have been rediscovered as a symbolic system, and are mainly used as a means of divination.

They provide a key to understanding the lives and beliefs of the ancient people, who created them. They have much to teach us about a way of life which was much more intimately linked with the natural world and the realm of spirit, than our own.How To Use RunesRunes come as stones, and also as cards. Rune stones are stones, with the rune carved on them, and the cards are just a picture of it and sometimes have information on the back. Runes should be kept as your own, they work better when other energies are not interfering.If you want to know more about something, you could put a rune stone or card relating to what you want to know about under your pillow for the night. Runes are mainly used for private spells and rituals, although they can be used in coven circles too.

Your Own Affirmations

Follow this process to formulate successful affirmations:

Know your goal.

Find present – tense statements that reflect that foal as a reality (avoid negative terminology as all costs).

Write the affirmation down and post it where you will often see it.

Include your name (or the words I and me) in the affirmation. This is not egotistical – affirmations are focused on self improvement.

Set aside time for affirmations even as you would a meditation.

Repeat the affirmations. The more you hear it, the more you will trust in it as being true.

Give yourself an opportunity to put the affirmation to work through positive actions.
